Hello and welcome to "Happy Tails". My name is Sandy
Thompson
and I live in Pitkin, Louisiana. I am a retired
school teacher working 10 years with some VERY SPECIAL pre-school age children with special needs.
My love for dogs started as a child, we always had at least 2 when I
was growing up… I feel they are a child’s first best friend, they can teach them so much.
All dogs are not the same, so one should take the time to think about which dog and breed is best for
them and their family. I will be happy to answer any questions you might have.
I raise Shih-Tzu, Yorkshire Terries and I have recently added Chihuahuas
and Maltese. These breeds are all members of the Toy Group. My dogs are registered with the
American Kennel
Club, Continental
Kennel Club and America's
Pet Registry, Inc . Our puppies are sold with a health
guarantee,
you can read more about this on the puppy page.
I hope you enjoy your visit and come back often. If you
are ever in Pitkin, stop by and meet the babies in person. I'll put the coffee pot on, I love having company.

General Appearance
The Maltese is a toy dog covered from head to foot with a mantle of
long, silky, white hair. He is gentle-mannered and affectionate, eager
and sprightly in action, and, despite his size, possessed of the vigor
needed for the satisfactory companion.

General Appearance
The Shih Tzu is a sturdy, lively, alert toy dog with long flowing double coat. Befitting his noble Chinese ancestry as a highly valued, prized companion and palace pet, the Shih Tzu is proud of bearing, has a distinctively arrogant carriage with head well up and tail curved over the back. Although there has always been considerable size variation, the Shih Tzu must be compact, solid, carrying good weight and substance....from

General Appearance
That of a long-haired toy terrier whose blue and tan coat is parted on the face and from the base of the skull to the end of the tail and hangs evenly and quite straight down each side of body. The body is neat, compact and well proportioned. The dog's high head carriage and confident manner should give the appearance of vigor and self-importance.....from
